WEBSTER PARISH, La. (KSLA) - Two people drowned during a fishing accident on Dorcheat Bayou in Webster Parish.

On Sept 21, the Webster Parish Sheriff’s Office (WPSO) announced that two people, Annie Ruth Buggs, 54, of Bernice, and Deandrea Perez Ford, 41 of Homer, drowned.

The incident happened when Buggs and Ford were fishing along the banks of the Dorcheat Bayou on Sunday morning, near a boat launch off of Bobby Davis Road.

WPSO says the evidence at the scene indicated that one of them fell from a chair into the water, and the other entered the water to try to save the other.
