ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - The Supreme Court of Georgia declined this week to hear Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis’ appeal to remain on the case of her historic prosecution of Donald Trump.
In this week’s On The Record , Ashleigh Merchant, the attorney who brought to light Willis’ financial and personal relationship with her former special prosecutor, Nathan Wade, gives her reaction to this week’s developments.
“I’ve thought from day one, if we have to go to trial, we’ll win,” Merchant said. “And that’s not how the justice system is supposed to work. I’m not supposed to win. The defense is not supposed to win. If I win at trial, something went wrong because that case should never have gotten that far.”
