The Coalition has suffered another collapse in support across its voter base as men, young people and eastern Australians deserted the Liberals and Nationals.
It comes just a week after Opposition Leader Sussan Ley led the Coalition to its worst primary vote level in the history of Newspoll .
The new Newspoll analysis published by The Australian overnight showed that men have largely abandoned Ms Ley’s leadership since the May 3 federal election.
Quarterly data from December of last year and March of this year showed about 40 per cent of men and 38 per cent of women backed former opposition leader Peter Dutton’s Coalition.
Those numbers have plummeted to just 29 per cent of both men and women supporting the Coalition under Ms Ley.
