BALTIMORE — The Yankees saw the out-of-town scoreboard while they were in a Sunday pitching duel at Oriole Park.

When it was onto the 10th inning, the first-place Blue Jays had already won their game in Kansas City, so the Yankees knew that they had to follow suit to stay two games back with six to play and at least maintain their wild-card positioning.

For the starting of extras, Grisham took second base as the Yankees ghost runner, then Orioles right-hander Kade Stroud walked Aaron Judge after pitching a lights out top of the ninth, a 1-2-3 with three strikeouts.

With two left-handed bats coming up, the Orioles brought in left-hander Keegan Akin to face Cody Bellinger, who kills left-handed pitching, and Ben Rice, who is a better hitter facing righties.
