New Orleans Saints head coach Kellen Moore was criticized by many for his decision to kick a field goal before halftime instead of going for a touchdown in Week 3 against the Seattle Seahawks.
The Saints were at the Seahawks 5-yard line with 3 seconds to go in the second quarter, trailing 38-3 at Lumen Field in Seattle. Moore sent out Blake Grupe to kick a 27-yard field goal, which cut the Seahawks lead to 38-6 in an eventual 44-13 loss that saw the Saints fall to 0-3 on the season.
Moore faced questions from the media during the postgame press conference and offered an explanation for his decision to kick as time expired at the end of the first half.
