VISALIA, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) - A repeat DUI offender was taken into custody Saturday evening after leading police on a pursuit that ended in a crash, Visalia police said.
Officers said they tried to stop a pickup that ran a red light on Mooney Boulevard and Visalia Parkway but the driver didn't cooperate.
The person behind the wheel of the grey extended cab GMC Sierra, police say was 35-year-old Jose Valdivia.
After refusing to pull over, Valdivia continued southbound on Mooney Boulevard to Avenue 268. It was there, investigators said, that his truck veered off the road and went westbound along a ditch bank and onto Road 108.
From there, Valdivia traveled south and onto the shoulder near Cartmill Avenue, where the pursuit ended when he crashed into a street sign and came to rest against
