BANGOR -- The city of Bangor celebrated the King of Horror on Sunday.

Cross Street was shut down for 'Stephen King's 78th Birthday Carnival and Derry, Maine Beer Garden,' an event created by a local brewery. Our station went to check it out.

"Woo-hoo," shouted people gathered on Cross Street where horror fans gathered to celebrate Maine author Stephen King's 78th birthday on Sunday. Participants were encouraged to attend this carnival in costume and many of them were more than happy to oblige.

"I had the outfit. I just like dressing up as Pennywise," said local resident Raven Gamber.

"We are friends of the hotel in The Shining," said another participant.
