DES MOINES — Toledo closed out its season with a 7-2 Sunday victory against Iowa.

The Mud Hens scored the game’s first three runs when Austin Murr singled in Andrew Navigato, and then Justyn-Henry Malloy homered for the ninth time this season and plated Austin Murr.

Toledo then posted three more runs in the fourth when, with the bases loaded, outfielder Parker Chavers’ error on a Hao-Yu Lee single scored Trei Cruz, Riley Unroe, and Murr.

The Cubs got their runs in the bottom of the seventh when Ed Howard doubled in Caleb Knight and Hayden Cantrelle.

The Mud Hens scored their last run of 2025 in the eighth on a Gage Workman double that plated Malloy.
