Housing — the lack of it and the poor condition of much of what we have — has emerged as a top priority for voters in the election contest for six at-large seats on Toledo City Council on Nov. 4.
The issue of how to attract housing developers, how to make the zoning of it work better, and — basically — how to use housing to boost Toledo’s declining population came up repeatedly in a forum held at Indiana Avenue Missionary Baptist Church Thursday night.
The forum was sponsored by the Junction Coalition, NAACP Toledo, and the Movement and was well-attended.
That’s the good news. Every one of the 12 candidates had something substantive to say about their concern or their ideas for a solution.
