Just as Cam Ward’s first NFL touchdown pass was a doozy, so too was his first career interception.
But to Ward’s credit, he did manage to put the troubling first-quarter play behind him Sunday, eventually posting the most productive of his first three contests in the Titans' 41-20 loss to Indianapolis at Nissan Stadium.
To say things started poorly would be an understatement, as a pressured Ward — on the Titans’ third offensive snap of the contest — lobbed a soft pass toward running back Tony Pollard in the flat. Colts defensive back Kenny Moore had no problem reading the play, jumping in front of Pollard and taking the interception 32 yards into the end zone for a touchdown.
So just 40 seconds into the contest, the Colts, who hadn’t yet run an offensive play, were up 7-0.
