MICHIGAN CITY, Ind. — A wanted Michigan man was captured when he was bitten by a police K-9 after leading police on a chase in northwestern Indiana .
According to a release from the La Porte County Sheriff's Office , around 3:36 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 21, a deputy was standing on the sidewalk near the intersection of Lincolnway and Monroe Street in downtown La Porte when he saw a vehicle traveling westbound going at least 50 mph in a 25 mph zone. The deputy also noted that it sounded like the vehicle had a flat tire.
The deputy later attempted to pull the suspect vehicle over, but instead, the suspect fled. Police say the suspect led police through several city streets on the west side of the city.
