ASOTIN COUNTY, Wash. – Campers planning trips to southeast Washington have new options this fall.

The Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW) has opened the first campsites on the Asotin Creek Wildlife Area, WDFW said in a release .

Located along Lick Creek Road, the two new sites are at Sourdough Gulch and Cabin Gulch. They were funded by grants from the Washington Recreation Conservation Office.

These campsites operate on a first-come, first-served basis. Camping is free, but visitors must display a WDFW Vehicle Access Pass or a Discover Pass.

While the camping is considered dispersed, there are developed gravel pads available for parking campers or setting up tents. Campers can stay up to 21 days within a 30-day period.
