A severe thunderstorm warning has been issued in the Twin Cities on Sunday evening.
The warning is currently in effect across an area of the west metro that includes Minnetonka, Edina, St. Louis Park, Hopkins and Golden Valley.
Winds of up to 60 mph and two-inch-sized hail are the main risk factors from the storm, according to the National Weather Service.
"People and animals outdoors will be injured," the warning reads. Expect hail damage to roofs, siding, windows, and vehicles. Expect wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees."
"Anyone outdoors should move to shelter inside a well-built structure and stay away from windows. This storm is capable of producing dangerous hail and damaging winds."
