Detroit — Wearing blue and orange, some Detroit Tigers fans crowded around a stiff roaring tiger outside Comerica Park to capture the experience of that last home game of the regular season. But their hopes of a win faded Sunday.
The Tigers lost 6-2 to the Atlanta Braves but kept their first-place spot in the American League Central Division after the Cleveland Guardians lost their game Sunday.
"It's worrisome because they were (14) games ahead at one time and now it looks like they got to play pretty well just to make the playoffs," Daniel Beard said as he stood in line to take a family photo in front of the tiger statue Sunday with his wife Shelby, 3-year-old daughter and 6-year-old son.
"The fact that they did very little at the trade deadline is kind of concerning. We need a win. I
