Construction projects in Metro Detroit and across Michigan could disrupt commutes this week as Michigan Department of Transportation crews continue work.

A daylong lane closure on Interstate 75 in Genesee County could slow southbound traffic in the Flint area Monday, according to an MDOT construction alert.

The department is finishing repairs, including concrete slope paving, on the I-75 overpass above Fenton Road starting Monday. The project is part of a $2.7 million investment to fix overpasses and other structures in Genesee, St. Clair, Arenac, Isabella and Clare counties.

The work is expected to finish Monday afternoon, while the overall project is scheduled to conclude next month, according to an MDOT project page.
