NASHUA, N.H. - Authorities said Sunday that restaurant patrons swiftly intervened to stop a gunman who opened fire during a wedding at a New Hampshire country club, preventing a greater tragedy.

What we know:

One person was killed and two others were wounded by the gunfire Saturday night before the suspect was taken into custody in a nearby neighborhood not long after the shooting, authorities said.

The gunfire killed Robert Steven DeCesare, 59, at Sky Meadow Country Club in Nashua, said New Hampshire Attorney General John Formell
