Australian comedian Marty Sheargold, who lost a radio gig after making sexist on-air comments about the Matildas, has given his new national comedy tour a touch of football terminology.

Sheargold was let go from Triple M in February after copping severe backlash for calling the Matildas, “Year 10 girls” and admitted he would rather "hammer a nail" through the head of his penis than watch the Australian women’s football side play.

His former employer Southern Cross Austereo “mutually agreed to part ways” with Sheargold.

The network added in a statement at the time: “(SCA) takes its responsibility to listeners, shareholders, and clients seriously and its programming should align with the standards and expectations of its audience”.

Now, the 54-year-old is set to return to the public eye
