An aged care worker has been charged with fraud after dozens of purchases were allegedly made using money stolen from elderly victims.

Detectives arrested the 23-year-old woman from Margate, a suburb on Queensland's Redcliffe Peninsula, after an investigation into fraudulent purchases made between October 2024 and June 2025.

Police allege the woman, who worked at an aged care facility in Rothwell, stole bank details from four victims to make personal purchases.

Redcliffe Detective Senior Sergeant Lisa Elkins said police traced the woman's online and in-person shopping habits.

"Taking advantage of the elderly members in our community will not be tolerated," she said.

"I thank the victims and their loved ones for reporting suspicious banking activity and purchases."
