Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department homicide investigators are assisting Lancaster Station personnel after a child was found dead Sunday morning in Lancaster.

According to authorities, deputies responded at approximately 8:20 a.m. to the 44000 block of Beech Avenue following a report that a child was not breathing. Los Angeles County Fire Department personnel also arrived and pronounced the child deceased at the scene.

The circumstances surrounding the death remain under investigation, and officials have not released additional details.
