Robert Grindle, 91, passed away peacefully after a years-long battle with Alzheimer’s and Dementia on September 20, 2025.

Mr. Grindle is survived by his sister Estelle Whitley; brother-in-law Andrew J. Jr. (Marsha) Fields; children Walter (Patricia) Grindle and Phillip (Dawn) Grindle; grandchildren Austin, Coleman, Logan, Lila, Lydia, and Lena Grindle; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Mr. Grindle is preceded in death by his parents Lewis Young Grindle and Pauline J. Edge Grindle; siblings Louis Young “L.Y.” Grindle, Eugene Grindle, and Imogene Wilson; and loving wife of 68 years, Mary Elizabeth Fields Grindle.

Mr. Grindle was born on October 2, 1933, in Lumpkin County, Georgia. He grew up near The Grindle Shoals on the Chestatee river in the Christian faith. He remembered his childho
