A shooting in Mt. Adams has left a 39-year-old man critically injured and residents worried as police continue their investigation into the unusual act of violence in what is typically a low-crime neighborhood within Cincinnati.

According to the city of Cincinnati's crime database, the shooting is the first to take place in Mt. Adams since April 2023.

A cell phone camera captured the sound of gunfire shortly after 2 a.m., and emergency communications reported, "Respond with police – 942 Hatch Street between Louden Street and Belvedere Street for a male shooting victim." The dispatcher added, "Three GSWs; one to the chest."
