Tonight (Monday 22 September 2025) will see former Hibernian player Caroline Weir and Napoli’s Scott McTominay compete against the world’s best at the 2025 Ballon D’Or awards.

Caroline Weir becomes the first ever Scot to be nominated for the Ballon D’Or Féminin, which was first presented in 2018. She is also on a shortlist of 30 for the prestigious individual award.

Weir – who showed incredible strength to battle back after nine months out with an ACL injury – enjoyed another strong campaign for Real Madrid, scoring in her comeback match before going on to net 14 times in all competitions as they finished 2 nd in La Liga F.

Those goals saw her become the highest scorer in the Spanish club’s history. She has won 112 caps and scored 19 goals for Scotland, and also represented her count
