Given the wet winter and only now a bit of drying weather, the market quality was mixed, with a lot of lighter stock on offer, reported Michael Easey, from selling agents Bowe and Lidbury.

Steer weaners, 200 head, sold from $675 to $1600 for most sales to average at $1121, up $100 a head from the last Maitland store sale.

Yearling steers were $55/hd better, on top of already good money, selling from $1500 to $1825, with an average of $1650.
