HOUSTON (KIAH) — Houston police report that at least 12 bodies have been recovered from bayous across the city within the past year. This includes a recent cluster of discoveries that occurred within the past week, with four bodies found in different area bayous just days apart.

One of the victims was identified as 20-year-old University of Houston student, Jade McKissic, whose body was discovered in Brays Bayou. Her autopsy ruled out any indication of foul play.

Another body was found in a canal near Greens Bayou, and the cause of death was determined to be natural. A third body was recovered from White Oak Bayou, and a fourth was found in Buffalo Bayou, where witnesses reported seeing a person enter the water and never resurface.
