A man and a boy were taken to a hospital after being shot near the Twin City Mall in Leominster on Saturday night, police said.

At around 10:41 p.m. Saturday, Leominster police went to the mall at 975 Merriam Ave. for a report of shots fired. Arriving officers determined multiple gunshots had been fired, Police Chief Ryan D. Malatos said in a statement .

Officers at the scene found a male victim, who is under 18, with a gunshot wound. He was flown to UMass Memorial Hospital in Worcester and is expected to survive his injuries, police said.

An adult man was also found shot, police said. He was taken to UMass Memorial Hospital in Worcester by ambulance and is expected to survive his injuries.
