Tens of thousands of people have been evacuated in the Philippines due to a monstrous typhoon.

Super Typhoon Ragasa, named locally as Nando, hit the northern part of the country with fierce winds of 270kmph (167mph).

More than 10,000 people were ordered to leave their homes and head to schools and emergency shelters, due to the chaotic storm. It comes as weather experts issued a risk to life warning as businesses were forced to close their doors. 13:11 Monica Charsley
