DENVER (KDVR) — The Denver weather forecast is changing for the first day of fall, which starts Monday at 12:19 p.m.

Temperatures return into the upper 70s nearing 80 degrees this afternoon with scattered showers and storms on the way for us, some of that rain will be heavy at times.

Weather today: Dry start, rain this afternoon

The work week kicks off with some sunshine before clouds quickly move into the picture by the mid-to-late morning hours.

Scattered showers and some storms are possible Monday afternoon, none of which are forecasted to be severe in the metro area. With that being said if you're looking to get outside, make sure to do it before lunchtime.

High temperatures will be in the upper 70s with winds out of the west anywhere from 5-15 mph.
