VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. – A 20-year-old man was struck and killed Sunday evening while standing outside of his disabled pickup truck on International Speedway Boulevard in Volusia County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The crash happened before 9 p.m. near Red John Drive.
According to a crash report, the Spring Hill man’s 1997 Ford F250 truck was partially blocking the outside lane of International Speedway Boulevard. The man, who was standing in the westbound lane, was struck by a 2017 Ford F250.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Ford driver and passenger, a 67-year-old DeLand woman and a 67-year-old DeLand man, were uninjured.
An investigation is ongoing.
