For the first time in more than a decade, Pitt will immortalize one of its modern icons, Aaron Donald, by retiring his No. 97 jersey at halftime of a Week 12 contest against Notre Dame at Acrisure Stadium.
Donald, the gold standard of interior defensive line play since he arrived at Pitt in 2010, will be the 11th Panther to have their number retired and only the second defensive lineman to earn the honor. A defensive player’s jersey hasn’t been retired by Pitt since Joe Schmidt’s No. 67 was put to rest in 1997.
