BATON ROUGE, LA – Data released by the federal Bureau of Labor Statistics shows that Louisiana’s annual nonfarm employment gains continue.

The state’s seasonally adjusted total nonfarm employment for August 2025 is 2,002,500 jobs, a decrease of 300 jobs from the revised July 2025 figure of 2,002,800 jobs. The series has seen over-the-month employment gains in 26 of the last 34 months. Compared to August 2024, seasonally adjusted total nonfarm employment increased by 19,100 jobs. The series has seen over-the-year employment gains for 53 consecutive months.

Louisiana’s seasonally adjusted total private sector employment for August 2025 is 1,679,400 jobs, an increase of 500 jobs from the revised July 2025 figure of 1,678,900 jobs. The series has seen over-the-month employment gains in 33 of
