Security may be bolstered at a town's newest nature reserve where fly-tippers have struck repeatedly. Four times in recent months waste has been left at Springwater Country Park in Whitefield , Bury.

Just seven miles from Manchester city centre and a mile from the M60 junction 17 it sustains a wide range of wildlife. But as reported in the Manchester Evening News the car park for the facility is being used as a dumping ground and a chair recently ended up in a wooded area.

One person has been prosecuted but a councillor is calling for the town hall to name and shame the culprits as a powerful deterrent.
