ELLSWORTH -- The City of Ellsworth has issued a boil water order during the repairs of a broken water main.

According to a release from the Public Works, a boil water order is in effect for residences and businesses who utilize the Ellsworth Water Department, on Hancock Street between the intersections of Main Street and Pine Street, due to a possibility of unsafe drinking water.

Consumers are directed to boil all water for at least 5 minutes before drinking, making ice cubes, washing foods, brushing teeth or in any other activity involving consumption of water.

This order shall remain in effect until further notice.
