HORSEHEADS, N.Y. (WETM) – Police are searching for two teenagers following a hit-and-run crash that occurred in the Village of Horseheads early Monday morning.

Horseheads Village Police Chief Mike Suhey told 18 News that the crash occurred at Route 14 and Wygant Road around 2 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 22.

Suhey stated that the crash involved two 15-year-old teenagers who took their grandmother's car out for a ride, crashed into the guardrails and then left the scene. Suhey further stated that the car was destroyed in the incident.

As a result, Suhey says the case was turned over to Elmira Police for the location of the teenagers.
