GROTON, Conn (WTNH) — A federal court ruled on Monday to grant a stay against the stop-work order issued on Aug. 22 to halt construction of the Revolution Wind project off the coast of Connecticut and Rhode Island.

Gov. Ned Lamont said on Monday that the project, expected to bring power to over 350,000 homes in Rhode Island in Connecticut, is set to resume.

The motion was initially filed on Sept. 5 to bar the enforcement of the stop-work order against the Revolution Wind project off the coast of Connecticut and Rhode Island.

According to the initial motion for the stay, Ørsted's Revolution Wind project is already 80% complete, with 45 of 65 wind turbines installed. Revolution Wind already spent about $5 billion in costs toward the project and anticipated an additional $1 billion in brea
