LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - The City of Lexington’s residential waste audit is underway.
The pilot program aims to educate people about what can and cannot be thrown in the recycling and yard waste carts.
If you live in the city, you might see people walking around your neighborhood in bright-orange vests and sifting through your recycling bin.
It’s nothing to be alarmed about because it’s part of the city’s contamination reduction plan. They will also be educating people along the way.
“We want to make sure that we’re first and foremost, making sure that the individuals are getting the service, but then also are they doing it correctly,” said Antonio Baldon, Director of Lexington’s Division of Waste Management.
