Joyce and Stephen Rigby arrived at Boxwood Winery in Middleburg, Virginia, in 2019, and the husband and wife team both brought plenty of experience to one of the state’s best-known wineries.

Immersed in East Coast viticulture since the early 1980s, Joyce began a vineyard management and winery design consulting firm and worked with vineyards and wineries across six states, including Pennsylvania and Maryland, in addition to teaching viticulture and winery design in the Enology and Viticulture associate degree program at Harrisburg Area Community College (HACC).
