CINCINNATI (WXIX) - A man accused of killing an 18-year-old nearly two years ago pleaded guilty in court and was sentenced Monday.

Hamilton County Common Pleas Court Judge Robert Winkler sentenced Keiylon Kennedy to 12 to 17.5 years in prison after he pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter for the death of Jahmarae Whipple .

It happened Sept. 25, 2023 at a home on Craft Street in the Winton Hills neighborhood.

Cincinnati police were dispatched around 12:30 p.m. for a report of shots heard in the area where they found Whipple with gunshot wounds. He later died at the scene.

The shooting happened after a loud argument, Cincinnati Police Lt. Jonathan Cunningham previously reported to the media.
