CINCINNATI (WXIX) - A new commissioner has been appointed to the Hamilton County Great Parks Board after a former commissioner resigned following the use of slurs during a meeting.

Caroline Keating was named a new Park Commissioner for Hamilton County Great Parks and is set to be sworn in on Thursday, according to Probate Court Judge Ralph Winkler.

Keating is a former collegiate swimmer and avid marathon finisher who, after a cardiac disease diagnosis, would return to running following several procedures.

Beyond being an athlete, she worked as a category manager for Kroger and was listed among Cincinnati Business Courier’s Forty Under Forty in 2024 .
