A longtime NFL executive and the father of Miami Dolphins general manager Chris Grier, Bobby Grier, has passed away at the age of 82.

Grier, who worked as a football coach and front office exec, spent time with the New England Patriots, Houston Texans, and the Dolphins. He was an executive for the Pats and Texans, later working as a consultant for Miami.

“We are deeply saddened by the passing of Bobby Grier, father of general manager Chris Grier. Bobby was a longtime executive for the Patriots and Texans and a former consultant for the Dolphins. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Grier family,” the Dolphins said in a statement on X.
