The General Services Administration (GSA), a U.S. federal agency that manages government properties, is looking to lease office space in Des Moines and other cities across the country for law enforcement administrative offices.

The agency posted a request for proposals for "as-is, fully finished and furnished office space" across more than a dozen cities. The department was only accepting offers during "a special open period" from Sept. 11 to Sept. 17.

NPR and the Washington Post , which first reported the story Thursday, Sept. 18, cited unnamed sources and records which suggested the space was needed to house U.S. Immigration and Customs Administration (ICE) officials. GSA is asking for space for 70 desks, private offices, a conference room and a server room. More: In Iowa, Sen.
