The Washington Commanders have signed veteran safety and former first-round pick Darnell Savage and placed Will Harris on the Reserve/Injured list.
Savage, the No. 21 overall pick by the Green Bay Packers in 2019, has appeared in 87 games with 82 starts. He has 354 tackles over the course of his seven-year career to go with 38 pass breakups, 10 interceptions and a sack. He spent the 2024 campaign with the Jacksonville Jaguars and played two games in 2025 before being released.
Savage was an immediate starter for the Packers and was a mainstay of their secondary for five seasons. He grabbed nine of his interceptions during that span, including a team-leading four in 2020.
