Fire crews raced to a beauty spot near Edinburgh to battle a six metre blaze on Sunday evening.

Scottish Fire and Rescue were made aware of the fire at White Hill near the Pentland Hills on September 21 with crews climbing up and down the hill several times to get water.

The blaze was unattended and spotted by a ranger. In a post shared by Pentland Hills Regional Park, a second fire was also spotted in a tree trunk on Monday morning.

The team have encouraged visitors to light fires in a "reasonable location" and to put it out before leaving.

A statement reads: "Last night our Ranger Andrew spotted an unattended fire on White Hill, covering approx 6 metres! Scottish Fire and Rescue Service had to be phoned.

"This meant the fire service had to climb up and down white hill numerous time
