A wooden block with “Sandy Hook Elementary” and “Shooter’s Accomplice Block” written on the sides was found on the campus of King Elementary School on Monday.

The King Police Department School Resource Officer found the item, the police said, and school staff activated a shelter-in-place protocol.

Police said the block was used to wedge open an exterior door and labeled by a King Elementary employee.

Susan Heflin Carter, 64, of Tobaccoville has been charged with disorderly conduct, according to the police department.

King elementary is part of the Stokes County School System.
