ZEIGLER, Ill. (WSIL) -- Motorists in Franklin County should be aware of multiple railroad crossing closures due to repairs.

Several crossings, including Church Street Crossing in Zeigler and River Road Crossing in Royalton, are currently closed and expected to reopen on September 23, 2025. Pump Station Lane Crossing in Royalton is also closed with the same reopening date.

Yellowbanks Road Crossing will close temporarily on September 23, 2025, from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Drivers are advised to use detours and plan their routes ahead of time. The Franklin County Sheriff's Office reminded drivers to never cross when gates or signals are active.

The sheriff's office said these closures are necessary for maintenance and safety.
