GRAND ISLAND, Neb. (KSNB) - The Grand Island Mayor wants the city council to approve Pat Brown as the new City Administrator.

Brown would replace Laura McAloon who resigned Sept. 9.

He’s currently Grand Island’s Assistant City Administrator, Chief Financial Officer and Acting Finance Director/City Treasurer.

In a memo to the city council, Mayor Roger Steele wrote in part that Brown, “...holds the executive and administrative qualifications required for this position, and has a demonstrated history of actual experience and knowledge...”

Steele wrote that Brown has accepted the offer and will start work immediately at step 9 of the City Administrator salary table which is $254,015 per year.

The City Council will vote on Brown’s appointment at the Tuesday, Sept. 23 meeting.
