HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - Art class at Adams Central Elementary looked a little different for the week, as the school welcomed artist-in-residence Carrie Strope to teach the students unique lessons.

“It was a whirlwind,” said Strope on her last day at Adams Central. “We did some design work after we did our Shrinky Dink project, and then we came up with the symbols that we’re representing here and now the kids are building their windows and they’ll have the chance to leave behind a legacy.”

This isn’t Strope’s first time at the school; the PTO brought her back after her visit a few years ago where the then-sixth graders created a “legacy window” out of pieces of glass. That window now hangs in the cafeteria of the school, and this year Carrie is helping a new set of AC sixth graders leave
