ALTOONA, Pa. (WTAJ) — Altoona residents are being asked to step forward later this month in the fight against a disease that impacts millions of families across the country.

The Alzheimer’s Association will host the 2025 Walk to End Alzheimer’s on Saturday, Sept. 27, at Peoples Natural Gas Field. The opening ceremony begins at 10 a.m., followed by a walk that raises awareness and funds for research, care and support.

Organizers say the event will include the Promise Garden ceremony, where participants hold flowers of different colors to reflect their personal connection to the disease.
