LAS VEGAS ( FOX5 ) — Law enforcement officials have released details about a crash that killed a young person in central Las Vegas.

The collision occurred Sept. 13 , just before 6 a.m., near the northbound Decatur Boulevard onramp to Interstate 11 in central Las Vegas.

A Volkswagen Jetta rear-ended a Toyota Sequoia, police said. The driver of an Audi A4 following behind attempted to avoid a collision but was struck by the Toyota before hitting a concrete traffic barrier.

A passenger in the Volkswagen, described by Nevada State Police as a juvenile, died in the crash. Officials noted that the driver and passenger were not wearing seat belts at the time.

Drivers of the other vehicles were taken to area hospitals with injuries from the crash, police said.
