A 9-month-old was hospitalized in Reno after testing positive for methamphetamine and other drugs, leading to the arrest of the child’s father, according to the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies responded to Renown Regional Medical Center in the early morning hours of Sept. 20 after medical staff performed CPR on the infant during an emergency. The child was later admitted to the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit in stable condition.
Detectives said the baby tested positive for methamphetamine, benzodiazepines and barbiturates. Washoe County Child Protective Services has been notified and is involved in the case.
