Another standout local high school football player will be staying home for his college career.
Spanish Springs senior Brady Hummel posted on X that he has committed to play for Nevada after high school.
Hummel was named the Player of The Year last season in the then-Class 5A-Division II coaches voting.
He plays wide receiver and safety for the Cougars. This season he has 39 receptions for 361 yards and seven touchdowns for the 5-0 Cougars. He also has 108 yards in punt returns.
On defense, he has been in on 34 total tackles, 12 solo and 22 assisted. He has two interceptions.
In the 2024 season, he caught 73 passes for 843 yards and 10 touchdowns. He was in on 62 tackles and had four interceptions.
Hummel had at least nine college offers on the table.
